Seymour Roberts graduated from Duke University in 1981 with a A.B. in Political Science, magna cum laude; from the Emory University School of Law with a J.D. in 1984; and from King’s College, University of London, with an LL.M. in 1985.

Represented creditors in the medical equipment manufacturing, telecommunications and restaurant industries regarding licensing, assumption/rejection of executory contracts, administrative expenses, proofs of claim, and collection efforts in bankruptcy and state court. Represented committees, and committee members, in telecommunications, housing construction and agricultural bankruptcies. Represented chapter 11 and chapter 7 trustees in adversary proceeding litigation over officer and director liability. avoidable transfers and contested matters dealing with all aspects of case administration. Represented creditors, including municipalities. corporate conglomerates in the computer component manufacturing, recreational theme park, adult beverage, energy production, oil and gas, aviation, nursing home, CMBS, commercial insurance, real estate development, commercial food production and telecommunications industries, with respect to the purchase and sale of assets out of bankruptcy, assumption/rejection of executory contracts and leases, transfer of and objection to claims, avoidable transfers, confirmation, and post-confirmation litigation. Represented chapter 7 trustee regarding the invalidation of Illinois land trusts, and the sale of commercial properties. Appointed Receiver of an apartment complex, 47-acre trailer park, multifamily properties, raw land, and in turnover cases to collect million dollar plus judgment. Represents Receivers in State Court and Bankruptcy Court in turnover cases to collect high dollar judgments. Published numerous articles in bankruptcy periodicals regarding bankruptcy and litigation subjects.
